Questions Families Ask

Straight answers, plainly given

What therapy does Riverside offer?

Physical therapy to rebuild strength, balance and mobility, and occupational therapy for the everyday skills that make independence possible.

How long is a typical rehab stay?

It depends on the person and their goals. Short-term rehabilitation after surgery, injury or a hospital stay often runs a few weeks. We’ll help you understand what applies to you.

What is the difference between skilled nursing rehab and an inpatient rehab hospital?

An inpatient rehabilitation facility is built for people who can take part in intensive therapy, generally about three hours a day. Skilled nursing rehab combines therapy with 24-hour nursing care, at a pace that suits people who need more nursing support. If an inpatient rehab hospital would fit your loved one better, we’ll tell you honestly.

Does Medicare cover rehab at Riverside?

Riverside is Medicare certified, and Medicare can cover skilled nursing and therapy for qualifying stays. Medicare explains the rules on its skilled nursing facility coverage page, and our Business Office Manager will help you understand your situation. Medicare Advantage plans set their own rules and often require approval before admission.

Can family be part of the therapy plan?

Yes. Families are part of the care team, and therapy goals are shared so you can follow progress and ask about it at any time.
